Amanda Harrell, Ph.D
Dr. Harrell is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in the assessment and treatment of adolescents, adults, and couples. Dr. Harrell earned her masters in Family and Child Studies from Miami University of Ohio and her doctorate in Child and Family Development/Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Georgia.
As a scientist-practitioner, Dr. Harrell has researched and published on such issues as the parent-adolescent relationship, eating disorders, families facing economic and health disparities, and has worked on designing sociobehavioral interventions for children and parents. Since 1999 she has worked in both community and private clinical settings, research institutions, has taught at the university level, and has presented at national conferences. Dr. Harrell has completed intensive training in DBT through Behavioral Tech, LLC.
In 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 Dr. Harrell was named the “Best of Cary Marriage and Family Counselors.”
